...and a watched mailbox never produces work. (Isn't that how the old adage goes...?)
I'm admitting here that I'm a little obsessed with my email. 90% of my jobs come through email, so if I can't access it, I feel like I'm literally losing money. On a typical day, I get up in the morning and get on the computer, where I can hear the email "bloop" while I'm working. Then, if I leave the house, I check my phone every 30 minutes.
What I've figured out is -- the more I check email, the less there is to find there.
So on the first official day of spring break, Ryleigh and I decided to hit the zoo. I purposefully forgot about my phone for several hours. We petted some sharks, laughed at the meerkats, searched for some well-hidden cheetahs... Once we stopped in the cafe for lunch, many hours later, I checked my email.
And Ryleigh had a job. And I had a job, plus two more sessions lined up for the following week. Then another one was waiting when I got home.
